These Community Guidelines outline the standards of behavior we expect from all members. By using Leeds Chat, you agree to follow these guidelines and help us maintain a positive community.

What We Expect From Members

- Communicate honestly about your intentions
- Respect others' boundaries and comfort levels
- Report behavior that violates these guidelines
- Take breaks when needed—it's okay to step away
- Support others in the community
What's Not Allowed
Strictly Prohibited:
- Harassment and bullying: Any form of intimidation, threats, or targeted abuse
- Hate speech: Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Sexual exploitation: Soliciting sexual services, sexual trafficking, or any form of commercial sex act
- Inappropriate content: Nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting yourself
- Spam and scams: Unsolicited commercial messages, phishing, or fraudulent activity
- Sharing private information: Doxxing or sharing others' private data without consent
- Self-promotion spam: Excessive promotion of business, social media, or external links
- Underage use: Anyone under 18 is strictly prohibited from using the platform
- Illegal activities: Any content or behavior that violates laws
Content Guidelines
When creating your profile and sending messages, please ensure your content is appropriate:
- Use clear, recent photos that accurately represent you
- Avoid heavily filtered or misleading images
- Keep bios free of hate speech, slurs, or offensive language
- Don't post content that infringes on others' intellectual property
- Avoid all-caps messages that can be perceived as shouting
Conversation Etiquette
Good communication creates better experiences for everyone:
- Be responsive: If someone messages you, a polite response (or lack of interest) is appreciated
- Ghosting: While sometimes unavoidable, try to communicate if you're no longer interested
- Unmatching: Use this for genuine incompatibility—not as a punishment
- Boundaries: Respect when someone sets limits on topics, frequency, or pace
- Consent: Always seek explicit consent before sharing personal information or moving conversations to other platforms
Meeting in Person Safely
If you decide to meet someone offline:
- Always meet in public places
- Tell someone where you're going and who with
- Use video chat before meeting
- Trust your instincts—leave if you feel uncomfortable
- Don't feel pressured to meet if you're not ready
- Arrange your own transportation initially
Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- Content removal: Offensive profiles, photos, or messages will be deleted
- Temporary suspension: Short-term restriction from using the platform
- Permanent ban: Complete removal from Leeds Chat for severe or repeated violations
All enforcement decisions are made at our discretion based on the severity and pattern of behavior. We consider context and may issue warnings for minor first-time offenses.
Reporting Violations
If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines:
- Use the report function on the user's profile or message
- Provide as much detail as possible about the issue
- Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours
- You'll be notified of actions taken when appropriate
We take all reports seriously and investigate each one thoroughly. False reporting is also taken seriously and may result in account restrictions.
Updates to Guidelines
These guidelines may be updated periodically to address new situations or improve clarity. Significant changes will be communicated to users. Continued use of Leeds Chat after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
